ExxonMobil Green Team Provides Environmental Internships

ExxonMobil Green Team today celebrated the start of its 28th year in Dallas, TX. As one of ExxonMobil’s signature community programs, the Green Team concept provides meaningful work experience and educational opportunities for Dallas-area high school students from low-to-moderate income families.

“We are proud to partner with ExxonMobil as this program enters its 28th year, to provide additional resources to outstanding nonprofits and continue making a difference in the lives of Dallas’ young people.”

The ExxonMobil Green Team is administered by the Volunteer Center of North Texas.

The ExxonMobil Green Team initiative enables students to be placed with local nonprofits for eight weeks, where they work in teams of four to six on environmental and conservation projects including research, education and public awareness campaigns. In addition to their work experience, students attend classes in career exploration, leadership development and environmental engineering and receive weekly instruction from the Maguire Energy Institute at Southern Methodist University. On Fridays, the Green Team members participate in educational field trips and environmentally-focused activities.
