2006 Fall Refining and Equipment Standards Meeting

Plan now to attend the American Petroleum Institute’s 71st Fall Refining and Equipment Standards Meeting at the Renaissance Parc 55 in San Francisco, California, October 31 – November 1, 2006.  The Renaissance Parc 55 is located at 55 Cyril Magnin Street, Market at Fifth, San Francisco, California 94102.  Telephone number 415-392-8000.

The deadline for pre-registration is October 13, 2006.  After this date, you may still register for the meeting on-site.  If you have questions, encounter any problems using the on-line registration software, or if you do not receive a confirmation showing that the payment was successfully processed with a zero balance, contact Angela Nelson, Program Assistant, at 202-682-8195 or nelsona@api.org.

Advance Your Standards

Your participation keeps API standards going strong, and we would like you to share your standards expertise with the next generation.  API invites you to sponsor first-time attendees from your company complimentary at all API 2006 standards meetings.

Complimentary registration is limited to first-time attendees, who must be sponsored and accompanied by a prior API standards meeting participant from the same company.  Pre-registration is required.  All hotel and travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant and attendee.

If you wish to sponsor a first-time attendee, and you are a previous participant at API standards meetings, please complete the Sponsored Attendee section on your Registration Form and return it by October 13, 2006.  You may also register a first-time attendee in your on-line registration.  You'll find the Sponsored Attendee category by clicking on the drop-down box under Guest Information.

Sponsorship/Exhibitor Application and Agreements

Sponsoring or exhibiting at the Refining and Equipment Standards Meeting is a targeted, cost-effective avenue for connecting with customers that you may not reach otherwise.  The deadline for returning your Sponsorship/Exhibitor Application and Agreement is September 22, 2006.

Hotel Information

Reservations may be made directly with the Renaissance Parc 55 by calling 415-392-8000 no later than 5:00 pm, local time at the hotel.  The cut-off date for making reservations is October 1, 2006.  Please mention the API 2006 Fall Refining and Equipment Standards Meeting to receive the group rate of $199 single or $209 for double occupancy rooms, plus tax. 

After October 1, 2006, hotel reservations will be accepted only on a space available basis at the group rate.

Note:  However you wish to make reservations, it is suggested that you make them as quickly as possible.  This should be done by the cut-off date.  If your plans change, you may adjust your reservations accordingly.  If the API block and/or hotel are sold you, you might not be able to get a room.

Spouse/Guest Program

Breakfasts will be provided Monday and Tuesday mornings.  In addition to the breakfasts, an on-site activity is being planned for Monday during the breakfast period and an off-site field trip for Tuesday.  See the Spouse/Guest Activity Form below for more details.

The fee for spouses and guests to participate is $100.  If you plan to bring a spouse or guest, please provide information for this person in your on-line registration or on your written registration form.  You are also asked to complete and fax this Spouse/Guest Activity Form to Arnetta Smith at 202-682-8222 by October 13, 2006.
