API Excise Tax Forum

On behalf of the API Excise Tax Committee, you are cordially invited to the 36th Annual Excise Tax Forum to be held Monday, May 5th and Tuesday, May 6th, 2008, at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center, 2301 North Millbend Drive, The Woodlands, Texas.
PROGRAM
As you will see from the agenda, the two day forum will emphasize compliance training in both motor fuels and sales and use taxes as well as provide the latest information on federal and state excise tax legislation and regulations. The program has been arranged this year so that registrants may sign up for the entire forum or either Monday (Excise Taxes) or Tuesday (Sales and Use Taxes). In addition, there will be a special Severance Tax workshop session on Tuesday morning, which will run concurrently with the Sales and Use Tax session. People may register to attend the Severance Tax workshop only. There will be a cocktail reception Monday evening to give you an opportunity to meet your colleagues informally.
REGISTRATION

To register By Mail/Fax – Complete the registration form and send it along with your check or credit card information to the address shown on the form or you may fax it to 202-682-8049. Checks must be made payable to the American Petroleum Institute and allow at least two weeks for your processing.

HOTEL
A bloc of rooms has been reserved at the Woodlands at a rate of $210.00 single/ double occupancy.
For reservations you may register on the Woodland’s website: Hotel online registration or you may call the Woodlands at 281/364-6250 or 1-800-433-2624 and ask for the American Petroleum Institute rate. Please note that the cutoff date is April 11, 2008. Reservations received after that date will be on a space available basis.
It is recommended that you get your hotel rooms soon as we expect our bloc to fill up quickly.
GOLF EVENT
There will be a golf outing on Sunday, May 4, with tee times starting at 12:00 noon. If you are interested in playing, please return golf registration form. No handicap is too high to qualify for this fun event!
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Registered participants may qualify for continuing education credit with the Texas State Bar and the Texas Board of Public Accountancy. Interested persons may obtain the required attendance forms at the registration desk at the seminar.
ATTIRE
Business casual attire is appropriate for the seminar and all related functions.
