Submitting your Recertification application: We will no longer accept any paper-based recertification applications. Please visit our new portal at https://inspector.api.org. to activate your account and submit recertification applications online. To activate your account you will need to know the personal e-mail on file with ICP and EITHER your API ID or your certification number. Please note: Your recertification will be available starting 90-days before your expiration date. Look for the "Recertify" link next to the expiration date of the certificate that will expire. Please do not create a new application. If you have any issues, or need help with login information, please feel free to contact the ICP Helpdesk at ICPHelpdesk@api.org, or by calling the helpline at 877-562-5187.
NOTICE: Change in ICP Directory listing
As of August 1, 2013 participation in the API ICP Directory is no longer optional. The directory will include all certified individuals. Each individual will have the option of a privacy setting for partial or full listing. Partial listings will only include your name and a country/state of residence. Full listings will include your addresses and phone numbers as well. You can make changes to your privacy setting by logging in to your account at https://inspector.api.org.
The My ICP portion of the website allows API certified individuals to accomplish one of two goals:
1. Take their re-certification quiz online
If you need to take a quiz in order to recertify, the quiz is available 90 days prior to your expiration month and for a grace period of 90 days after expiration date. Please be aware that it will NOT be available beyond the grace period, or once your certification has expired.
Please select the appropriate link below for the list of the documents needed for the quiz:
API 510 Recertification Quiz Documents
API 570 Recertification Quiz Documents
API 653 Recertification Quiz Documents
If you have a problem with the quiz please e-mail: Inspector@api.org.
2. Update their profile - such as changes to their name, address, employment information, telephone or e-mail address.
Please note: Do not use an e-mail address that you share with co-workers. Unique e-mail addresses are used for logging on to certain API secure websites and registering for meetings. If you use an e-mail address that someone else uses, changes get made to our database which can cause records to be merged into one.
It is very important that API has the latest information on file for you!
