API-IAGC Comments on the Draft Ocean Noise Strategy Roadmap (July 18, 2016)

We write on behalf of the American Petroleum Institute (“API”) and the International Association of Geophysical Contractors (“IAGC”) (together, the “Associations”) to provide our collective comments on the recently circulated draft Ocean Noise Strategy Roadmap (“ONS Roadmap”). Thank you for your attention to the Associations’ comments and concerns addressed in this letter.1 We look forward to future opportunities to work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (“NOAA”) in the development of regulatory and voluntary programs that are science-based and that balance ocean uses with acoustic protection and mitigation.
