API support letter to Senate on BLM Planning 2.0 CRA
The American Petroleum Institute (API) strongly supports the Congressional Review Act disapproval resolution for the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Resource Management Planning, also called BLM Planning 2.0. Please find below an attached letter of support from API President and CEO Jack Gerard for Senate action on the House-passed CRA (H.J. Res. 44). It is important that the Senate support this CRA resolution and restore management of BLM lands for multiple use. We also encourage the Senate to next take up the CRA disapproval resolution to repeal the BLM’s methane and waste prevention rule, which went into effect in January, given that BLM is without legal authority to regulate air quality, making the rule duplicative of current methane regulations, and because it could negatively impact production and revenues to federal, state and local governments.
