Former Congressional Chief of Staff joins API goverment relations team

WASHINGTON, April 5, 2011 – API today announced the addition of Carrie Melvin Domnitch to its government relations team as Director of Federal Relations focusing on upstream issues.

“Domnitch comes to API with a decade of Capitol Hill and trade association advocacy experience," said Marty Durbin, API Executive Vice President of Government Affairs. “She brings a wealth of legislative experience and will enhance our industry’s efforts to further America’s energy security." Carrie’s work will focus on the wide range of issues related to industry exploration and production, including reasonable access to and regulation of onshore, offshore and Alaskan lands.

Domnitch was chief of staff for Representative Thelma Drake (R-VA) and began her Capitol Hill career with Representative Michael Bilirakis (R-FL) as a staff assistant. Most recently she was the director of federal affairs for the American Chemistry Council.
