API hires Maryann McCarthy as associate director, New York State Petroleum Council

ALBANY, N.Y., March 2, 2012—API today announced Maryann K. McCarthy has joined the New York State Petroleum Council (NYSPC), a division of API, as associate director.

"McCarthy has a strong background in business development and job growth and will champion our growing outreach efforts in New York on behalf of the oil and natural gas industry," said NYSPC Executive Director Karen Moreau. "She understands the importance of domestic oil and natural gas production as a critical component for economic development in the United States."

McCarthy will work in the NYSPC’s offices in Albany joining the team of Karen Moreau, Felicia Franklin and Cathy Kenny in New York City. Maryann most recently served as vice president of business development and government affairs at the Industries for the Blind of NYS.

McCarthy is a graduate of Providence College and received her Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School of Union University.

The New York State Petroleum Council represents all sectors of New York's oil and natural gas industry, from development in the Marcellus Shale to oil refining and marketing of transportation fuels.
