WASHINGTON, January 13, 2025 – The American Petroleum Institute (API) today announced Kristin Whitman as its new Senior Vice President of Government Relations. Whitman will lead API’s federal relations and mobilization teams to advance the U.S. oil and natural gas industry’s priorities in Washington, including those outlined in API’s Five Point Policy Roadmap.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kristin to lead our government affairs efforts at a time when America has a generational opportunity to cement its energy leadership,” API Executive Vice President and Chief Advocacy Officer Amanda Eversole said. “Kristin brings a breadth of experience in building successful advocacy campaigns and a deep understanding of the policies needed to secure a new day for American energy. Her strategic vision and passion for this bedrock American industry will be essential to advancing our members’ priorities in Washington.”
“I am excited to join API at a truly historic moment for American energy,” said Whitman. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead our efforts to reinforce that message with lawmakers while broadening our robust movement of pro-energy advocates across the country.”
