Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the importance and history of the spec, the scope and to what is applicable
  • Understand the Pressure rating, Temperature rating, Material Classes and PSL
  • Consider the critical information and factors to be individuated and communicated when you need to purchase components and services according to API 6A
  • Understand the General Requirements for Design of the main parts
  • Define Material specification Define the main general quality control requirements
  • Define the requirements for chemical, mechanical, hardness, dimensional, visual control, traceability and serialization, surface and volumetric NDE Define the requirements for chemical, mechanical, hardness, dimensional, visual control, documentation
  • Individuate the quality requirements for each type of hangers
  • Define the requirements for Bolting to be used into API 6A equipment
  • Identify how to select ER and identify the main requirements for production HT Equipment (eg. TUS)
  • Define the requirements for welding and overlay and the associated NDE
  • Identify the FAT for the main Equipment, their duration and applicability based on the PSL
  • Identify the General Marking requirements and how to find product specific requirements, be able to identify critical storing and shipping requirements
